Join Enduro Genetics in our exciting growth path. We're searching for a Director of microbial strain engineering to catalyze our expansion and growing number of projects, delivering value to clients’ bioprocesses at scale through our Enduro Sense technology.

Responsibilities:

• Grow, lead, manage, and coach high performing R&D teams
• Develop research strategies to deliver key milestones,
• Oversight of client projects to ensure progress and delivery of results
• Work with project leads to generate and report against deliverables & timelines
• Provide expert technical input within projects

Requirements:

To succeed in the position, we expect you have:

• A PhD in Synthetic Biology, Molecular Biology or a similar relevant area
• 8+ years of industry experience developing strains for bioprocesses (pharma/industrial)
• Excellent R&D project management skills incl. team mentorship
• Deep technical knowledge in production strain technology, recombinant protein expression or metabolite production,
• A proven track record in strain engineering of microbes for process/product development
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent written and verbal communication incl. presentation technique
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the dynamic needs of a growth company

In addition to these minimum requirements, the ideal candidate also possesses the following:

Nice to have skills:

• Experience working within a startup or within an agile small scale commercial R&D team
• Understanding of corporate strain/process development paths for bioprocesses
• Experience with Design of Experiments
• Experience with small scale automation
• Experience with fermentation science
• Experience of working within pharma GMP settings
